This week we’re making an easy no-sew DIY Dog Fabric Flower Garland that you’re gonna paw-dore! With a little dog-themed fabric, scissors, Mod Podge and a piece of jute string, you can create a festive garland that will instantly brighten up even the most humdrum room or outdoor space.

You’ll need…

Pawprint cotton fabric
Denim fabric (or coordinating fabric)
Fabric glue
Mod podge
Brush

Scissors
Mini clothespins
Cardboard
Paper cup
Jute string

Step 1

Cut a small cardboard circle that’s about 1½ inches in diameter. Use this as a template to cut out a bunch of circles from both fabrics. We made 7 flowers for this project, so we cut about 19 pawprint fabric circles and 23 denim circles.

Step 2

Lay out 5 pawprint fabric circles as petals in a flower shape and tack them together using fabric glue. Adhere a denim circle to the center to complete the flower shape. Repeat this step until you have made three pawprint flowers.

Step 3

Now, reverse the fabrics in step 2 by gluing together 5 denim petals and one pawprint center to create a total of four denim flowers.

Step 4

Pour some Mod Podge into a paper cup and add a small amount of water. Stir to create a thin mixture. Then apply a coat of Mod Podge to the fabric flowers until they are completely covered.

Step 5

As the flowers dry, adjust the fabric into more realistic petal shapes. You can curl up the edges, place them over a pen/pencil or gently tuck them into a small cup.

Step 6

Once dry, attach each flower to a line of jute string with the mini clothespins – alternating the two flower designs as you go.
