03 Apr DIY Dog Ear Easter Centerpiece
This year, we’re hopping into Spring with swirls of color that are bouncy, bold and bright – just like our pups! So grab a big batch of ribbons, some felt, and plastic eggs, and let’s make a DIY Dog Ear Easter Centerpiece that’ll make Sunday dinner so much prettier and full of springtime, festive flair.
Ear we go! 🙂
You’ll need…
- 8″ foam half ball centerpiece base
- Various spring and Easter ribbons, roughly 1½ to 3 inches wide (use favorites from your stash at home or find ones with bunnies, gingham or dots)
- Brown or tan wool blend felt sheets
- Easter egg picks
- Hot glue gun and sticks
- Floral wire
- Scissors
Step 1
With the foam placed flat on your crafting surface, twist, curl and glue or pin sections of ribbon (roughly 6-8 inches in length) all over the rounded dome shape. Continue adding ribbons until the base is completely covered.
Step 2
Time to create the bendy dog ears! Cut two identical floppy dog ear shapes from the brown and tan felt. Then measure and cut a length of wire that will follow along the outer edge of the ear. Sandwich the wire in between the pieces of felt and glue together. Repeat to create the second ear.
Step 3
Tuck the ears into the top of the centerpiece. Stick egg picks randomly in and around the foam centerpiece and you’re done!
Who needs bunny rabbits when you have cute puppy dog ears to brighten your day? Your family will be so egg-cited for Easter! Best of all, this doggie table decor is perfectly suited to be left up all season long.
