18 Oct DIY Howl-oween Patchwork Pumpkins

It’s October, so we say if you’ve got it, haunt it! Today we’ve got another fun “no sew” project that can be made in any fabric and requires just a few supplies. This time we’re “creepin’ it real” with these adorable Howl-oween Fabric Pumpkins that are the perfect touch to your hound inspired holiday decor. 

You’ll need…

Step 1

Begin by cutting your fabric into strips.The width and length will depend on the size of your pumpkin. No need to be exact. Pinking shears will help keep the fabric from fraying, if you have them. 

Step 2

(If your pumpkin stem is removable, go ahead and take it off now. It’ll make this step much easier to do!)

Use Mod Podge to apply the fabric strips to the pumpkin. First paint a section of the pumpkin generously with Mod Podge and then smooth a piece of fabric onto the pumpkin, top to bottom. Continue applying each strip and overlapping them slightly as you work your way around.

Step 3

Paint a layer of Mod Podge over the fabric-covered pumpkin to secure everything in place.
Step 4

Wrap and glue a strand of jute rope around the pumpkin stem. For an extra touch, you can glue a fabric leaf at the base of the stem. (…or tuck the leaf under the stem and glue it back in place on the pumpkin, if you removed the stem earlier.)

Boo-yah! These doggie holiday pumpkins are so quaint and cute! And don’t ya just love how quick and easy these are to put together?! Best part…you don’t have to sew them, but they look like you did. Now that’s a treat!
